A Scorecard for Resilience vs Fragility

Over the past couple of months, I have been writing blogs on resilience vs fragility within systems. First, let’s remember that the definition of resilience is that when a disruption occurs, the organization / system can absorb the impact and maintain its purpose and function via an adaptive response.

We have had plenty of practice with disruption since the beginning of the pandemic and continue to this day. I don’t think our disruptions will stop. Climate change for example, continues to create ripple effects of disruption in our world. Yet I believe we can create resilient organizations and lead in a way that strengthens their resilience. I thought I would summarize the characteristics of resilient and fragile systems Scorecard. I hope you can use it as a quick reference guide to assess  where your organization is on its migration toward greater resilience. – KA
